Mike is a retired police officer who dedicated over 27 years of service to the citizens of City of New York and the County of Nassau.  Mike has been recognized by both Departments for his excellence police work, investigations, arrests and his community service.  Mike supported his fellow police officers as their elected union representative in both the NYC Housing Police PBA and the Nassau County PBA, safeguarding the contractual rights of his colleagues.  Mike handled this position professionally for more than 19 years, serving on many committees benefitting the police officers he worked with.  Retiring from the police force in 2015, Mike took his experiences and education to his next career as a business owner and investigative expert.  Mike Schmitt joined Matt McCartin in the security business in 2009 developing and increasing clientele, creating a sound professional reputation in the business.  This partnership established itself by assisting companies and event planners in the development and implementation of security plans that addressed their security needs. 

In 2015, Mike Schmitt and Matt McCartin entered into a partnership with Philip Brady bringing together all three talents to broaden the spectrum of Upfront Security Associates, LLC.
